For use on the public road in the UK an ebike must be pedal assisted only, with an assisted speed limit of 15mph (26kph). There are also limits on the power output of the battery/motor. The rider must be over 13 years of age.

We have just added 2 lovely new Hybrid e-bikes to our fleet. These Merida Espresso 300 SE bikes are light and responsive and fully equipped with lights, mudguards and panniers. They are really easy to ride and have a low crossbar and comfortable riding position. The Shimano motor is coupled with 9 gears and driven by a 400wh battery which will be great for lots of miles on our local hills. Available for hire now on our website or contact us on Facebook.

During summer 24 we are trialling a series of Wednesday Cafe Rides.

These will be easy, short rides out from Oldmeldrum on quiet roads. They are intended to give folks some confidence in riding in our local countryside. Using an Ebike is optional. We will lend you an Ebike for the ride if you wish but you are welcome to bring your own bike regardless of type. We plan to alternate between afternoon and evening rides and will incorporate a cafe stop either during or at the end of the ride. These rides are not about distance or speed. They are an opportunity to explore our local countryside by bike and are open to all ages and abilities. We will make sure that the route chosen is suitable for the group and will assist you to have an enjoyable and safe ride.
